Lecher-vitrines

One of my very favorite pastimes in Paris is to go window shopping, or "faire du leche vitrines," literally "go lick the windows!"  Paris windows are windows to admire, filled with food, clothes, jewelry, perfume, and a great variety of other things, almost always arranged with great flair and artistry.   After you have walked about, "licking the windows," you begin to notice a color theme.  This year it is orange - not a Halloween orange... think of orange sorbet or cantaloupe.

an orange purse in the Marais....

...touches of orange adorn the mannequins in a former Patisserie.  The old store name is still over the window painted on glass and the corners still have their painted glass decorations.  There are not many of these old stores remaining in Paris, but there are enough of them to merit keeping an eye out for them.  Often the corner or side glass panels have painted pastoral landscapes, and sometimes you still see an old store with the same merchandise that has moved through the store over the years.

ooh, la, la, an orange purse...

an orange hat and some orange jewelry... there's an orange scarf over to the left....
some orange flats to complete the ensemble???

or maybe some brown flats with little orange bows...

here is a lovely scarf with a coordinating necklace....

this leather purse could hold most everything....

and this one also has plenty of space for carrying your stuff....
